Longton Community Church | Overseas Mission

Overseas Mission

At Longton Community Church we are dedicated to advancing God’s kingdom. Our mission aims are:

- to pursue the same passion that Jesus had for the lost and needy
- to have a compassionate Church community that provides for the needs of others
- to build a church community that allows the love of Christ to prevail
- to share the Good News of Jesus Christ
- to equip people so that they may retain their diginity within their own culture

Longton Community Church will provide opportunities for people to experience team, compassion and community through love in action.

We are committed to:

- providing opportunities for individuals to serve
- equipping people to use their God-given skills
- developing teams
- becoming a sending church community
- developing leadership skills.

As a result of these aims we have built connections with Holy Spirit Fire Church in Mbarara, Uganda, and have been with a number of teams to work with them. Our teams have helped Holy Spirit Fire Church to continue their building programme, providing sanitation facilities at the church, and we have run youth and children’s activities and worked with their leaders to encourage them to continue in their work with the local young people. This is a long-term commitment and we are continually investing in our relationship with our friends in Uganda.
